Gifted and Talented

Baker Montessori serves the needs of our gifted and talented students through our Gifted and Talented Neighborhood program. Baker's Gifted and Talented Neighborhood program incorporates extensions and research that modify the depth, complexity, and pacing of our differentiated and inquiry-based Montessori curriculum.

Gifted and Talented status does not affect a student’s admission to Baker; it simply guides the way we meet the needs of students after they have been accepted.

Q. Who can test?

A. Any student attending Baker Montessori or any non-enrolled HISD student zoned to Baker Montessori may test for G/T.  

 

Q. If my child was previously identified by HISD, do they need to test again?

A. No. Any child identified by HISD as G/T retains identification unless they leave HISD or the parent requests the child to be removed from G/T. 

*Please note that students who were identified outside of HISD must be identified by HISD or submit previous testing to the campus for district approval.

 

Q. What steps do I need to take to have my child tested?

A. Once the application opens, submit a request using the link provided.

 

Q. When is the deadline to apply to take the G/T Test?

A. The G/T application deadline has expired for this school year. Be on the lookout for the application for next school year, which should be made available this summer.
